Creating a Sitcom in 5 Steps
And they all begin with P!
Struggling with your sitcom idea? Not sure how to get it up and running?
Can I recommend spending half an hour watching this video on YouTube? I walk you through how to set up a sitcom that stands a fighting chance of actually working:
I’d love to know what you think.
Please put questions in the comments below, or on YouTube and I can pick them up in future videos.
The Whole Hog
And if you REALLY want to dig in and get serious about writing a sitcom, why not spend TWO WHOLE DAYS with me and a few others in a Writers’ Room? That’s on 11th & 12th September in a church hall in North London, which is not as swish as the room we had in Manchester for a day in April. No matter! And I know it’s London. But London is, at least, easy to get to.
We’ll build up a show from scratch, develop characters, come up with stories, pitch them, break them and hopefully ended up with the plot for a pilot. Sound good?
You’ll need to find some accommodation for the night of 11th September somewhere in London (big place, lots of options including the sofas of old friends…). You’ll be able to book in from next week. Places strictly limited to ten. Watch this space.
